Akané Product

Akané Product is our dedicated line of craftsmanship, utilizing kimono and textile materials, based in Kanmon (Shimonoseki). We select textiles and vintage kimonos from across Japan and the world, combining them with the sensibility and design nurtured in France, tailoring them into products that fit modern lifestyles. From Shimonoseki to the world: a new line of "Wa 和(Japanese-style) craftsmanship," blending tradition and creativity.

  • KIMONO Upcycle LAB by Chikagé & Akané

    A joint project between Chikagé Kimono Trading Co., Ltd. and Kimono atelier Akané. We practice sustainable creation, breathing new life into retired vintage kimonos and reviving them as modern fashion. We offer reinterpreted upcycled items—including kimono dresses, jackets, and obi-cloth bags—along with the vintage kimonos themselves, all selected under the owner's expert eye.

    The Akané Product line primarily focuses on OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) for corporations/organizations and wholesale of vintage kimonos. We can widely produce items according to your needs, from fashion accessories like bow ties and bags using dyed textiles to unique, playful items such as squeeze balls and pin badges.
