We select textiles and vintage kimonos from across Japan and the world, combining them with the sensibility and design nurtured in France, tailoring them into products that fit modern lifestyles. From Shimonoseki to the world: a new line of "Wa 和(Japanese-style) craftsmanship," blending tradition and creativity.

KIMONO Upcycle LAB by Maison TSUMUGU
Maison TSUMUGU is a global kimono upcycling maison, born as a joint project between "Chikage," a traditional costume rental shop that has long supported local heritage and culture, and "Kimono atelier Akané," which has been promoting the charm of kimonos to the world for a decade.

We practice sustainable creation by breathing new life into vintage kimonos that have fulfilled their original purpose, reviving them as contemporary fashion.
Our collection features upcycled items that reinterpreting the essence of Japanese beauty—such as kimono dresses, jackets, and obi bags—alongside carefully curated vintage kimonos. Each piece is selected with an uncompromising aesthetic eye and delivered to the world from Shimonoseki, Japan. -
